Prom Madness: Edition I

Hi! This post is an improvised post.
My old old friend Catarina, quite popular on my posts lately, asked me to do her makeup for prom. Well, not her prom. She was invited to another school's prom, they're weirdly soon in some schools.
She always gives me total freedom to do whatever I think is best according to her clothes and the shade of lipstick she would like for the event.
For Valentine's she wanted dark lips and for this prom event she wanted red lips to go with her shoes.

Red is a classic and, therefore, goes with nearly everything. I could've gone softer on the eyes but I decided to add color in a subtle way.
Here's what it turned out like:

"If you go bold on the lips, go soft on the eyes. If you go bold on the eyes, go soft on the lips."
If you know me, you know I don't stand by the rules. Bold eyes and bold lips is still a good look!

On the eyes I used a black gel liner and drew a messy wing, doesn't need to be too neat because I blended it out right before it dried.
Metallic eyeshadows grab onto any base like this and specially stand out over black. The eyeshadow I used is from that IDC Colour palette I got from Christmas and it is a dark metallic green that just adds interest and a touch of color to this look. I ended up with a black to green gradient in a winged shape that contrasts with her brown eyes.

The lipstick is Maybelline Burgundy 590.

And that's it!
It was a very easy look to achieve and I find it looks really good on her.

I loved doing this prom makeup and look forward to have more of these fun moments creating makeup for others.

I hope to see you next week, till then, have a nice weekend and enjoy yourself.

Love,
Anna
